Gardner Douglas - GD Mk3/Mk3R Price: POA
Last Updated On: 16/04/2023
The GD Mk3, the first car to be produced by Gardner Douglas, was developed for both road and track use with a design that took its inspiration from a 60's icon. Enclosed by a GRP semi-monocoque body, the backbone design cloaks the power train and accurately locates the supension for excellent power delivery with positive and precise control.
Designed for huge V8 power, the chassis always feels taught and responsive when pushed to the limit. Fitted as standard with an all-alloy 6 litre GM LS2 V8 which puts out 400bhp, the GD Mk 3 is capable of 0-60mph (97km/h) in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 160mph (257km/h). Typical touring, however, should return around 28mpg (10.1L/100km). A 7 litre GM LS7 V8 (505bhp) can be fitted as an option.
The company has now added the GD Mk3R to the range (see main image). It has a more purposeful aggressive stance over the standard GD Mk3, its subtle wider arches allow the fitment of wider rubber taking advantage of the ever increasing power on tap from the modern V8.
However it retains the same proven underpinnings of its siblings.
The GD Mk3 and GD Mk3R is also available as a self-build project.
